Texas History Interactive Notebook Guidelines
Purpose:
Set up organization, creativity, independence in thinking and processing information.
Materials:
Composition book
Pen / Pencil
Table of Content Pages
Grading:
Notebook can be spot checked at any time for a daily grade.
Notebook will be checked at least once per nine weeks for major grade.
Notebooks will be checked for neatness, and if are up to date, and specific assignments for completeness and accuracy.
Graded work will be kept in a separate folder in a file cabinet in the room.
What happens if I am absent?
It is your responsibility to get all make up work, notes, or activities. Ask your notebook buddy or another classmate what you missed. If you keep your table of contents up to date, you will know what pages you missed. I will always help you get caught up when I am not giving a lesson, but it is YOUR responsibility to ask.
Can I take my notebook home?
Of course you can take your notebook home. You must check your notebook out with me. You are responsible to return your notebook to the class box. If I check notebooks, and yours is not around, then YOU are responsible. You should never, ever, ever touch another persons’ notebook without the owner’s permission.
What if I should be a kid and lose it?
You get to grow up fast, and become an adult. You get to start a whole new notebook from “start to finish”. Remember they are graded. So a tip from me to you…..do not lose it.
Another quick kid type question….what if I leave it out in class?
Well someone could throw it away or borrow it. See note above. I might find it and put it way for you. Of course my time is worth at least five points each time I have to do this. Do you really want to take the chance that someone might take it, Really…do you? Really?
I have been over and understand all the material above. I am now ready for the best year of History ever.
